Is now a good time to become an otr truck driver?

My husband and I are both 27 with no kids and would like to drive as a team. We live in the Carolina's and have enrolled in a truck driving school. Any helpful info for newbies would be greatly appreciated. (i.e. life on the road and good companys to work for)
